Marianne Harrison

Marianne HarrisonMarianne is responsible for all aspects of the diversified and balanced insurance and investment business provided by Manulife’s Canadian Division. She is also a member of the Company’s Executive Committee. Since assuming this role in January 2013, she has led the development and implementation of a strategy to evolve Manulife's Canadian Division into a more customer-centric organization. This wide-ranging strategy has affected every aspect of the organization, from the way it operates to its products and services.  

Prior to her current role, she held several leadership positions across the company, including President, and General Manager for Long-Term Care Insurance for John Hancock, Manulife’s U.S. Division, and Executive Vice President and Controller for Manulife in Toronto. Before joining Manulife, Marianne had been Chief Financial Officer of Wealth Management at TD Bank Group after holding various positions there; before that she worked for PwC.

Marianne graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in English and she earned a Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Canadian/Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. 

She sits on the Board of Directors of St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation and is a member of Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association’s Standing Committee on Standards and Marketplace Relations.
